Fanime 2012

I am feeling very sick and cranky so instead of getting frustrated with doing an outfit I will choose today to tell you all about the great weekend that was Fanime 2012.

Soooo many different things made planning this all an awful wreck, but it ended up being an amazing weekend. I met so many people, got my picture taken a BUNCH (but they are no where to be found online :'C ) and just enjoyed roomed with about 8 other people. I convinced my good friend Yez to come up from SoCal to enjoy Fanime with me. She is the prettiest peach ever.

LOL so my friends all got these Nekomimi ears. They have a mind sensor so the ears react to your brain waves. It was so much fun watching them all twitch and whir ahahaha I almost bought a pair too but at 100 bucks a pop it's not worth it.

I got there on Thursday, had to wait FOREVER because the guy in charge of my room would not answer his damn phone. I finally made it to my room, worked out for a bit, picked up Yez and Blanca from the train and went back to this neat parking garage I found near my hotel. Little did I know that was not over night parking, so when I went to get my flip flops four days later on Saturday, the gates were down and I couldn't get in! Luckily someone working there let me in and out but I was so close to having my car towed... orz

On Friday I dressed as the Heart Shooter version of Miku Hatsune!

The corset, bowtie and arm cuffs were made by Viveeh on cosplay.com. She did an AMAZING job and I got so many compliments on my costume. I had ribbons to go around my ankles as well but they kept slipping and I forgot pins to keep them up. :( Ah my wig was a mess too lmao. I hate that thing I need to give it some real love. AND THE SHOES ahhh those shoes. They were too big for me even with insoles so they were so uncomfortable to walk in aye dios mio my tights were black on the bottoms cause I gave up walking in those heels. I had two (planned) photo shoots that day, one with Andel Photography:

I love the pictures they took for me, and I was very happy to share the shots with Viveeh who liked them too. :) I wanted to do her proud!

I ended up giving my friends shoots too! I returned the favor to Ashley of Andel Photography and shot her amazing Lightening costume:

Ashley was so lovely to work with! She did crazy poses, dealt with my newbishness in full stride, and was an excellent model. I hope to work with her again very soon!

I also did a quick shoot with my friend Bri, who was Chell from Portal:

I pretty much grabbed her right before her gathering (sorry again, doll) and said YOU, COME HERE NOW FOR PICTURES. I'm just happy she was pleased with them in the end. Both her and Ashley got pictures taken of them the whole con! Popular ladies~

Congratulations on making it to the end of my picture dump. I hope you all felt like you were there with me. And now I'm about to go to Anime Expo next weekend!! Ha, conventions all around for me. :) I hope I can get all my cosplays fixed up in time for it @_@

Woooo it's been a minute hasn't it? A much needed return to fashion blogging, so sorry for the wait you guys! It's been crazy between work and hanging out with friends and working out. I had some time this morning and my wifi mysteriously started to connect as soon as I whined about it on facebook.... conspiracy much??

I am so happy this summer! I love the nice weather (even if it makes work ridiculous). I just need a nice day to go to the pool and get tan and gorgeous. ;P

 I had fun taking these pictures. (Dang my hair has really grown a lot... ) I tried to emulate Cher Lloyd's style and goofiness in the video. I made some ugly faces.... these were like, the only two decent pictures, haha! at least something good came out though. :)

I'm back!

AHHHH SCHOOL IS OVER THE WEATHER IS NICE AND I AM SO HAPPY

Fanime has passed (sad to the max) but I made a ton of amazing friends and met up with some old ones and had such a wonderful time altogether. I'm gonna wait until later to post Fanime pictures since my laptop isn't gathering a connection from our wifi thingy. >:I   My parent's are out of town so I have to wait until they come home to fix it.

I went down to Monterrey this weekend and had an amazing time with some of the friends I made at Fanime. :) Here's some pictures!

Then today I went shopping at H&M and Forever 21. I bought a lot of stuff @_@

 H&M haul:

silver cuffs, feather necklace, heart crop top, blue sundress, leather skirt, mint and peach colored shorts, white blazer.

 I found these in the Monterrey store first but they were too big on me. So happy I finally got them! I like that the buttons match the color of the shorts.

I love these scrubs from Victoria's Secret! They smell yummy and make my skin very soft.

Versace Yellow Diamond Review

Hey guys! I actually did a review soon after it was promised oh man what a feat.

I don't remember requesting this sample so when I saw the package in the mail yesterday I was quite surprised and pleased! It came with a tiny ad card and then the product and it's casing. Yellow is one of my favorite colors so I love the packaging. Plus it's shiny and the paisley is elegant and detailed and fun to look at! I had to edit these a lot to get the yellow to stand out, but the color is most like that of the inside of a lemon creme pie.

 Here is what the website says about the fragrance:

"The fragrance unveils like a burst of light, gleaming and glistening. The crystalline luminosity of citron from Diamante the generous freshness of a pear sorbet fused amongst sparkling notes of bergamot and dynamic accents of neroli. The rare elegance of orange blossom shines through the light of freesia and mimosa and the natural transparency of nymphea. The sensuality of ambery woods, the sunny and vibrant character of palo santo wood, the refined presence of musk."

 

 

To me, it smells a bit musky and watery. Not watered down, but more juicy/watery. There is a hint of pear like mentioned in their description. It reminds me of a sunny day at the beach or camping.

It's not over powering at all.

The thing I like best about the perfume (or at least from this tube) is that the spray is very concentrated. I think for body mists, it should be sprayed all over the body, but for perfume, it should only be on your veins (wrists, throat, back of knees) since it's a bit stronger. 

I like the perfume a lot! I normally would go for a more citrusy or sweet smell, but I feel like this is light enough for me while still holding a sophisticated smell. I have too many perfumes now though so I probably won't buy this. (However for a present.... ;) )

Here's their video advertisement, just for fun. I like the kaleidoscope effect. My mom used to collect kaleidoscopes so I used to play with them a lot when I was younger.

Melted Lenses and Colored Flashes

May the Fourth be with you today.

For my Photography class final, we were allowed to choose a topic to shoot about. I chose to instead use the technique of 'destroying' a disposable camera to make vintage-y pictures. Here are some of the results!

What do you think? I like the process, I want to try again and get better at it. Too bad disposable cameras are getting hard to come by! I gotta stock up. :(

I am so close to being done with finals and FANIME is coming up right afterwards oh gosh I gotta alter things and cut wigs and pack and find pieces.
I just got a sample of a Versace perfume which I'll review in a later post.
